Why did you decide to have a reality show?

I’m at a point in my life where I feel ready to share a part of my true being. I am comfortable enough in my skin. I’m strong and rooted to a point where I’m ready to let people in and allow them to experience who I truly am. But, it’s not easy. Sometimes, you prefer to keep your private life sacred, but I felt that it was time for me to share myself with my fans. I hope that they appreciate it, and walk the journey with me.

How do you plan on handling the public scrutiny and negative comments?

I’m aware of the scrutiny and critics. However, I’m okay with it, because the reality show will be based on my authenticity and that makes it easier. People will have a taste of the real me, instead of speculating. This year, I’m comfortable and confident with my decisions and the journey ahead.

You only have three main characters on the show. What motivated your decision?

I didn’t want a big choir. I wanted people who were competent, and willing, because not everyone’s comfortable enough to have a camera following them around. My mom was an obvious choice while Bobby is part of the lighter side of my life, and provides a good balance.

What keeps you up at night?

I don’t allow a lot of things to keep me awake. However, prayer and “go pahla” (connecting with the ancestors) gets me going. It helps me to keep calm and feel safe. The stress that comes with the entertainment industry can definitely keep you up at night, but I always find solace in prayer.

What spiritual lessons do you hope viewers take away?

I wanted to share that the spiritual realm is real and does exist. My intention is to show my fans how much my spirituality means to me. Hopefully, my journey will connect with someone who’s had questions or is uncertain about their own spiritual journey. I hope I can inspire them to take their own spirituality head-on, relentlessly, proudly and joyfully.

Are you currently working on any music?

My musical journey is growing, and receiving plaques has made me feel more confident. I’m definitely making more music, and am super thrilled about the collaborations I’ll be doing. So, look out for more bangers!
