Question
I lost my virginity five years ago to a guy I still love. We split up years ago and since then I’ve dated two other guys and I have a son with one of them. My baby daddy and I are in a complicated relationship because of the distance between us, and he knows I still love my first boyfriend. I only see my first boyfriend once every three months and he always wants sex. He says he wishes my son was his biological son and says I’m the only woman in his life. I don’t know if he’s telling the truth because he’s an outgoing person and he spends most of his time with his friends, not me. What should I do?
Answer
It seems you’re making things complicated for yourself. Your ex is an ex, and that happened for a reason. You’ve both moved on, so why are you still having a sexual relationship with him? He’s aware of the bond you have with him because he was your first and he’s using that to take advantage of you – and you’re letting him do it. If he still loved you and wanted a future with you he should’ve made that clear and made a move a long time ago. You seem to be indecisive about who you want in your life but think about this and decide who really makes you happy and who you really want as a partner. Then cut your ties with the rest and concentrate on making that one relationship fulfilling.
