An Instagram influencer who shared details of her seven-day engagement on social media is being mocked about her enormous ring, which has been dubbed “tacky”.
Travel blogger and YouTuber Laura G shared her week-long proposal with her almost two million Instagram followers.
Her millionaire boyfriend, Dhar Mann, planned a series of luxury activities before getting down on one knee to propose in front of the Eiffel Tower, Metro UK reports.
The couple enjoyed several pampering sessions and a trip to Disneyland, and also bought a Los Angeles apartment.
But when the influencer shared a snap of her large diamond engagement ring, her followers couldn’t look past its ridiculous size, News Hub reports.
In a popular engagement shaming group on Facebook called “That’s It, I’m Ring Shaming”, users were quick to mock the ring with some calling it “fake”.
“It looks like something I would have received as part of a prize at an arcade when I was five and would wear for a week until the ring part snapped,” one person commented.
Another user compared the ring to a potato to which another responded, “Don’t insult potatoes.”
Others also criticised the lengthy wedding proposal, with one user saying: “All that for something I can get out of my daughter’s toy box?”
The couple went on to their YouTube channel to discuss their proposal events but didn’t address the negative comments about Laura’s ring.
