Paul Nixon from Texas in the US, is on the run and wanted by police officials after he fraudulently forged his wife’s name as well as that of a notary on legal papers, FoxNews reports.

The 51-year-old allegedly filed the divorce papers without his wife’s knowledge or consent. She only became aware of their divorce when she confronted him about his expenditures on expensive jewellery. He then informed her that they are divorced, NYPost reports.

The woman then went to the district court for answers and was informed that they were indeed divorced.

“The fraudulent divorced papers have been retracted,” explains Constable Mark Herman from Harris County police department. This means that because the divorce was deemed null and void the couple were still legally married.

The woman then reported her husband’s fraudulent behaviour to the police and Paul hasn’t been seen since 14 September. If he’s apprehended and convicted, he faces up to ten years in jail, Complex reports.
