Did you feel any pressure to get your body back to your pre-pregnancy measurements?

I absolutely felt no pressure, I just hoped I’d get as close to it as possible. I started working out with my trainer to get ready for the OMO 3x Power Challenge. This was four months after delivering my girls.

How was post-pregnancy training different from pre-pregnancy workouts?

It was quite difficult, but I soon got into the swing of things. Pregnancy really changes your body and I’m still recovering, so things won’t just happen as quickly as before. There are never times where I think of giving up, but I definitely take breaks and take it easy on my body when it is exhausted.

How soon did you see results and how did that make you feel?

It’s still early days when it comes to “results”. I’m more focused on getting my strength and stamina back and that’s going really well. And I’ve got an incredible support structure in my family and friends. This fuels me to keep going against challenges and when I feel demotivated.

What does your workout routine consist of?

It differs in every session. But we’re really focusing on strengthening the core and helping my body heal through working out. It made sense for the obstacle course I was going on during the power challenge. It was important to be able to go over beams and monkey bars.

Did you make any changes to your eating habits?

No, I really don’t want to bully my body with extremes. I listen to what it wants at all times, so with the diet I’m not strict at all. I really am still healing, so I have to be very careful how I do things and pace myself. And you have to be comfortable enough to say “wait a minute, this is pushing it too far”. When I felt that way, I had the support of the team to carry me through.

With which workout did you see the best results with?

Anything involving endurance training, because that strengthens me. So going from not being able to do a 30-second planks to being able to plank for a full minute.

What’s the most important piece of advice you’d give to someone that wants to lose pregnancy weight?

Relax. Take your time. Be very kind to your body and rest a lot. Workout when you can and stop when your body can’t handle it.

What prompted your collaboration with OMO?

It was a natural fit! I’m a new mom and have stepped into this fresh new world! This is also a brand I’ve used and grown up with. It was only natural

for me to work with them on such a fun and light-hearted campaign that holds so many important values that easily get lost in our busy lives.

What were your expectations for the OMO 3x Power Challenge Day?

I expected to have tons of fun and I did! Also, I didn’t realise how dirty I would get but that was fun as well [smiles]. The team spirit was amazing, being with other wonderful moms and dads, getting through difficult obstacles and having people cheer for, run with, and carry you! It was really beautiful! You take for granted the frivolous fun moments in life. We spend too much time worrying and less time enjoying life.

What is your take on the OMO’s tagline “Dirt Is Good” and how do your fans expect to see you drive the messaging?

It’s brilliant. It reminds you to have fun. Dirt is really part of life, and to put such a positive outlook to it is important. You’ll see me with my girls and their drool and milk spills and and… [chuckles].
