It seems the best way to get to know your new boyfriend is to learn from his ex.

Or at least that’s what one ex thought.

Jacob Amira Brown took to Twitter to share a three-page memo in which his former partner lists handy pointers for the new love in his life. It includes his favourite colour, clothing item and snack.

"My ex-girlfriend wrote this for me and it's literally the best thing I [have] ever got in my life," he captioned the tweet.

The list kicks off with random information like the day he met his ex and when they started dating, The Sun writes.

"He likes to have his back rubbed/massaged so be prepared. Your hands may cramp but he loves it so you got to keep going [sic]," one of the several points reads.

"Oh yeah and don't finish a Netflix series without him because then he tries to finish it and you just spoil it for him."

The woman’s pointers seem straightforward but eventually they take a dark turn, The Metro notes.

“You’ll constantly hear negative things about him from people, but just ignore it, trust me, it ain’t worth the fight [sic].”

The unnamed woman then continues to share why she and Jacob broke up.

“You’re going to have to learn how to overcome big obstacles that come your way and that’s where I f****d up. I can’t do that for him but he’s so perfect and I hope you are ‘the one’ he’s always talking about.”

Jacob might have deemed it the best thing that’s ever happened to him but Twitter users weren’t having any of it.

"Is this dude looking for a girlfriend or a second mom?" one annoyed user asked.

While another added: "Any woman would be lucky to avoid you."

Some even reckoned Jacob wrote the note himself.

"He probably wrote it himself and thinks it will go over more easily if it's from his 'ex'."

Valid points, sure, but another Twitter user summed it up perfectly: "If someone I was dating gave me a letter from their ex, we would immediately be finished. I wouldn’t date anyone who tweets this garbage either."
