The last thing you’d expect from your partner is a list of rules on what you can and can’t do while on a trip with friends – but this is precisely the situation a British woman found herself in when her boyfriend demanded she follow 12 strict orders.

Zoe Scholefield, from West Yorkshire in England, was away at a musical festival when her now ex-boyfriend sent her a text with a list of things she couldn’t do, Fox News reports.

In it, he warns her not to “dance like a slag” and tells her to let him know “everything that happens” and be ready to “tell stories”.

Zoe posted a screenshot of the lengthy rules on Twitter and it’s received more than 34 000 likes, news.com.au reports.

“Funny how my ex sent me stuff like this then has the audacity to cheat on me,” she captioned the post along with two smiling-face-with-heart-eyes emojis.

A more reasonable rule was telling her to look after her drink to make sure no one puts anything in it, but then it went downhill from there.

“No boys and if anyone comes up to you and talks to you, you tell them you have a boyfriend,” rule three said.

He also demanded he approve her outfit before she went out.

Shocked Twitter users were quick to respond.

“Wow your ex sounds like the most toxic, dangerous sociopath alive,” one user commented.

“Don’t know who needs to hear this but if your partner lists even one of those things then you should show them the door. Control isn’t affection or love,” another said.
