You’re undesirable

Parents are the biggest culprits. They find it hard to understand how a beautiful young lady finds it difficult getting a man. What they fail to realise it relationships go way beyond looks. Personality, interests, ambition and chemistry are other factors to consider. People can actually also choose to be single so it’s unfair to assume there’s something wrong with them.

You have issues

Why can’t being single be celebrated the same way relationships are? Just because you came out of a long-term relationship doesn’t mean you have issues. You’re just wary of people you allow in your life. This is a good quality to have because you don’t want to risk having your heart broken again.

You’re too picky

This is the most common misconception among both men and women. Explaining why you can’t just date any man that comes you way is difficult because only you know what you really want.  As much as you want a tall, dark and handsome man there’s a man who wants a tall, successful and sexy lady and never gets told to reduce his standards.

You care more about your job…

…Why can’t you have both? A successful career and a man? You could just not be ready to be in a relationship right now because work is taking all your time. We have different plans and yours could just not involve a man, which is totally okay.

You’re difficult to please

There’s nothing wrong with knowing what you want. This false standard affects not only single women but others too. All women want is someone to listen, communicate, and plan a future with.
