Twitter was buzzing when a woman posted pictures of herself and her boyfriend celebrating his divorce.

The couple left South Africans stunned on Thursday after publicly celebrating his divorce at a local restaurant.

The divorcé went on Twitter to explain that people only celebrate marriages, however he feels that a divorce can just be liberating; adding that he was thankful to his “brick throwing girlfriend”.

The girlfriend also took to the Twitter streets to excitedly announce that his boyfriend is finally a free man.

“Guys. Bricking is my natural state of being. When I brick, I brick to completion. House, garden, everything. I take the estate. Please, man. Ooh, I think I left OUR out-of-community-of-property fridge open! Excuse me...” she tweeted

Her tweets sparked a robust debate on Twitter, with some people relating their own stories.

While others were appalled by her very public and what some called uncalled for indiscretion. They warned her that the same way she got him is the same way she will lose him.

When one Twitter user asked if she really did ‘brick' the wife, she responded saying “Not actually, but I like the interpretation happening on the TL”.

Some women congratulated her for being promoted from a ‘side-chick’ to the ‘main’ girlfriend and even asked for tips.

The girlfriend doesn't seem fazed by the negative comments and instead thanked people on Twitter who were happy for them. She added that she will be flying to Germany to spend Christmas with Robert's family.

A family court employee commented saying she has never seen anyone that happy about a divorce.

In South Africa, stats show that half of South African marriages don't last beyond 10 years. So is second time the charm when it comes to getting married?

Whether she really did 'brick' Robert's ex wife or not, certainly sparked many conversations about infidelity, happiness in a marriage, discretion and whether divorce can be the best solution for all parties involved.

And whether the ex wife herself is also sitting celebrating her freedom with a magnum of the finest French champagne to wash down Coffin Bay King oysters at R1 400 a pop.
