A couple who met while travelling the world has been keeping their long-distance flame alive by regularly meeting at half-way points for a picture-perfect kiss.

When Rob and Joli met back in 2010 at a meetup party for travellers, they had absolutely no clue that seven years later they would become Mr and Mrs Switzer.

But it’s the years in between their incredible relationship that gave their love story a fairytale ending.

Living more than 12 000 km apart – Joli from the Philippines and Rob from America – the couple messaged each other online for a few years before they officially decided to start dating in 2013.

Still travelling to different locations, the lovebirds decided they would meet up in various parts of the world – depending on where they were at the time – and start their own photo-taking tradition.

“Everyone was taking jump shots and signature travel poses, so we thought about creating our own cute pose just for kicks,” Joli explains

“We tried different ideas and the ‘dip kiss’ ended up being the one that was both romantic and playful while making people smile as they took the photo for us.

“As the collection started to grow it turned into a beautiful snapshot of all the trips we'd experienced together.”

But that soon changed in 2016 when Rob popped the big question in Moscow’s Red Square during one of their rendezvous – and Joli said yes!

The happy couple tied the knot in Rob’s hometown of Pennsylvania.

“We even showcased our collection of photos at our wedding,” Joli says.

Now living together, the married pair hope their adorable love story with will inspire others.

“We think a lot of people are inspired by our story since a lot of them can relate to it - many of them may have had to overcome their own challenges for the ones they love,” Joli says.

“Our main goal is to show people that despite the odds if you love someone enough, you should fight for them.  In the end, true love will persevere.”
