Exclusive collector's edition of The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

If you want to watch the movie that’s based on one of the biggest books of 2017 – the book has been sitting on the New York Time’s list for more than 50 weeks and for most of those weeks, it’s been in position number one or two.

Angie Thomas’s novel is a Young Adult novel with a strong political message – one that is by no means preachy but provides readers with a frank examination and discourse of the racial bias and profiling that goes hand in hand with police brutality.

Early reviews of the movie have been nothing short of glowing.

Here's a trailer of the movie:

The story is told through the lens of 16-year old Starr Carter who witnesses the shooting of her unarmed best friend at the hands of a white police officer. It’s a story that may have American roots but is recognisable on a global level because it deals with prejudice that so many of us are familiar with – particularly here in South Africa.
