Loyiso Gola announced on his Twitte that he’s been nominated for an Emmy award in the comedy category. How awesome is that?!
Loyiso’s show is absolutely hilarious but at the same time very insightful. For those of you who don’t know (but, seriously, where have you been?), it’s an eNCA news parody show that offers social commentary on important issues happening in the country.
If he wins, wait, I mean when he wins, it will be the best thing to ever happen for South African comedy yet.
And then there’s MasterChef SA which is arguably one of South Africa’s best reality TV shows, well, in my opinion at least. It was nominated for the Non-scripted Entertainment prize.
It’s good to know that I’m not the only one who enjoys sitting on my couch to watch people cook delicious meals while I nibble on my toasted sarmie.
SA has only been nominated in two categories but if we keep going at this rate we could very well snatch all the awards in the future. Wouldn’t that be great?!
We love and support both these shows, regardless of what happens on the day of the awards we are very proud and happy that South Africa is being recognised for its talent and hard work.
