The magazine posted this cover on Instagram and has since deleted the post:

Commenting on Nylon Germany's original post, Billie says neither she nor her team was consulted for the cover and had no creative input. The 17-year-old also took offence that the magazine removed her hair and made her appear to be shirtless.

Nylon Germany responded with an apology saying, "For this cover, it was never our intention to create a look that is confusing or insulting to Billie Eilish" - adding that it only intented to honour Billie and her work.

Amid the backlash, Nylon America distanced itself from the Nylon Germany cover.
