A 50-day lockdown marriage, a 9-day relationship - short celeb romances we're glad didn't last

South African TV personality Lerato Kganyago - affectionately known as LKG - announced on Thursday that she has split with her businessman husband of reportedly 50 days. The couple had tied the knot very shortly before the national lockdown began. 

And on day 48 of lockdown, she took to Instagram to express the following; 

"... we have come to realise that our different priorities and workloads have not afforded us the time to invest in our relationship. We will continue to care deeply for each other, and look forward to growing our friendship. We have nothing more to say on this subject, and hope that our privacy will be respected during this difficult time." 

 Let's take a look at some of the shortest celebrity marriages/relationships over the years, as we also respect their decisions for parting ways after such short periods of time. 

Charlie Sheen and Donna Peele 

The couple only manged to spend six months together. 

Kim Kardashian and Chris Humphries

Kim and Chris' romance lasted 72 days, and thank goodness, otherwise this beautiful family below would've never happened. We think she's happier with Kanye, anyway. 

Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon 

Earlier this year, Pamela Anderson and Jon Peters split 12 days after they married. The actress and her Hollywood producer (now) ex-husband got married in January in Malibu, but the couple decided to end their marriage just 12 days after tying the knot.

We're starting to think Pam may be a no-nonsense type of partner (and we love that for her). She spent just 60 days with Rick. 

Lena Waithe and Alana Moyo 

Lena announced earlier this year that she and Alano had ended their relationship after spontaneously tying the knot just two months earlier in an intimate ceremony in San Francisco, almost two years after they got engaged.

Cher and Greg Allman

The two musicians met backstage at one of Greg's gigs, but problems in his personal life meant they could only have a 9-day romance. 

Britney Spears and Jason Alexander

Who could forget the marriage that only lasted 55 hours? But at least Britney seems happier now, and she deserves it.
