The Swedish climate change activist, attending a protest in the United Kingdom, decided to take the opportunity to visit Malala who is currently a student at the University of Oxford.

The pair posted a photo together on their respective social media channels, expressing their mutual admiration for one another. "So... today I met my role model. What else can I say?" says Greta on her post.

"She's the only friend I'd skip school for," Malala tweeted.

In the past Malala has also publicly praised Greta's work, saying she motivates the youth to use their voice.

"I think that's the message that Greta is giving to young people around the world, that your voice, your activism is so, so crucial for the change you want to see for your future," Malala said on a appearance on American late-night talk show, A Little Late, hosted by Lilly Singh.
