Vogue recently shared an "Oral History” of the annual Met Gala event, with attendees and organizers sharing stories about previous events.

In one recollection, a former Vogue creative director, Sally Singer, reflected on the 2007 Met Gala and criticised Jessica Simpson's low cut Roberto Cavalli gown. Sally claimed Jessica’s breasts maybe fell out of her dress on the red carpet and claimed they were on a platter at the dinner table.

In the piece, Sally also details how John Mayer, Jessica's then boyfriend, was apparently putting his hands on her at the dinner table.

Taking to Instagram, Jessica clapped back, saying "to be shamed by another woman for having boobs in 2020 is nauseating.”

See her post below.

In response to Jessica’s body-shaming clapback, a Vogue representative issued an apology, saying in a statement, “That was never our intent, but we understand her reaction and we apologize for including it.”
