Kim Kardashian felt embarrassed when late fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld, gifted Kris Jenner a Chanel bag instead of her
Kim Kardashian West was furious when Karl Lagerfeld snubbed her after a fashion shoot and gave an expensive bag to her mother Kris Jenner instead.
The reality TV star was excited about her first photoshoot with the late designer, and had been tipped off by friends that he usually gifted his models with a special accessory.
Kim was reportedly "horrified" when her mother and manager turned up to their meeting and struck up an instant bond with the Chanel legend. She recalled feeling "embarrassed" and annoyed her mother had stolen her special moment.
"So then the shoot's over, and he comes out with something behind his back, and I'm like; 'the bag! It's here, oh my God!' (sic), Kim Kardashian told New York Magazine.
"Then he comes up and he says, 'Kim this was the best shoot. Thank you so much, but Kris here's a bag for you,' and he gives the bag to my mom. And it was a LEGO clutch."

You brought so much beauty, style and grace to this world. Karl, you will forever be a true legend, an icon, an inspiration. It was such a thrill and a pleasure to have met you, to have worked with you, and to have experienced the amazing times when you would photograph my girls for your beautiful campaigns. There will never be another like you, my dear friend, and you will be truly missed. ??#KarlLagerfeld @karllagerfeld
Kim K adds that the coveted Chanel bag encrusted with Swarovski crystals and hand stones cost about $10000 (over R100 000), and it was just a sample that never made it to production.
And the mother of four often reminds her own mom to leave the bag to her oldest daughter, North, whom she was expecting at the time of the shoot.
"To this day, she has the bag in her closet. And I've said to her; 'just so we're clear, in your will this goes to North' - I don't need it. That bag was for my daughter."
