  • Genuine allyship is necessary now more than ever, and Kourtney is one of the white celebrities heeding that call.
  • In light of the #BlackLivesMatter movement, the KUWTK star has been using her Instagram account of over 92 million followers to amplify the #ShareTheMicNow campaign.
  • She has also stated that she'll teach her three children about white privilege.

Kourtney Kardashian, who has three children — Mason, Penelope and Reign — with her ex, Scott Disick, feels it’s important to talk about race and white privilege with her children amid the Black Lives Matter movement.

“As a mother, there is a natural instinct to protect my children from anything that might make them feel sad or unsafe,” the reality TV star said on Instagram.

“I have to make sure they understand what it means to have white privilege and take the time to learn and discuss black history beyond just one short month out of the year," she added.

Kourtney is also participating in the #ShareTheMicNow campaign on Instagram, which is amplifying Black women and the important work that they’re doing in order to catalyse the change. For this campaign, the Poosh founder is handing her mic over to Bozoma Saint John, a U.S. businesswoman.

From @badassboz ... as I drop the mic today after @kourtneykardash so graciously agreed to #ShareTheMicNow... I leave you with an action to take to be an active participant in changing our world.? ? THE CHANGE BEGINS WITH YOU.? ? We’re all searching for a larger platform to be on, or a larger mission to join, but perhaps the real solution is in the mirror every day. Are you truly the best version of yourself that you can be? Do you bring your WHOLE beautiful self to every space you occupy? Do you aspire to goals which will expand your greatness? If you do... I applaud you! And if you don’t, I implore you to do so! But regardless of which answer you gave, we can all do better, and we can all work on ourselves to be better. Our world would be better for it. Racism won’t exist if we see our own greatness and beauty reflected in “other” people. Perhaps if the police who murdered George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, or the racists who ran down and killed Ahmaud Aubrey had elevated their own consciousness to see value in their own lives, they would’ve appreciated the greatness in the Black people they took from this beautiful life... we can work to be better individuals— and therefore a better society— starting today.? ? I’m doing this work every day in my badass way— regardless of where a I am— in my career, in my motherhood, in my friendships. Join me. Let’s work together to achieve our greatest potential. You can find me here on IG, or join the community I’m building to work, werk, wooooorque at www.thebadassworkshop.com? ? My greatest thanks to Kourtney for opening up her heart and her platform to me; and my thanks to the 100 women who participated in this culture-shifting campaign today. Let’s #KeepSharingTheMic? #BlackLivesMatter
