Genuine allyship is necessary now more than ever, and Kourtney is one of the white celebrities heeding that call.
In light of the #BlackLivesMatter movement, the KUWTK star has been using her Instagram account of over 92 million followers to amplify the #ShareTheMicNow campaign.
She has also stated that she'll teach her three children about white privilege.
Kourtney Kardashian, who has three children — Mason, Penelope and Reign — with her ex, Scott Disick, feels it’s important to talk about race and white privilege with her children amid the Black Lives Matter movement.
“As a mother, there is a natural instinct to protect my children from anything that might make them feel sad or unsafe,” the reality TV star said on Instagram.
“I have to make sure they understand what it means to have white privilege and take the time to learn and discuss black history beyond just one short month out of the year," she added.
Kourtney is also participating in the #ShareTheMicNow campaign on Instagram, which is amplifying Black women and the important work that they’re doing in order to catalyse the change. For this campaign, the Poosh founder is handing her mic over to Bozoma Saint John, a U.S. businesswoman.
