Lupita Nyong'o feels privileged but concedes that acting is a 'luxurious thing that comes with a lot of responsibility'

“It still feels early for me to be reflecting on a body of work but I feel blessed to have had the diversity of experience I have had so far. It’s something I have always wanted.

"As an actor, real freedom is having that choice and its hard getting there because acting is reliant on many other things. Acting is a privilege thing. It’s luxurious to play all day, and have people look at you. It’s a luxurious thing, and also a thing that comes with a lot of responsibility,” she said at the event.

Despite finding her job luxurious, she spoke about the downsides of being away from her family for long periods while on film sets. She also revealed that she is passionate about her work and tries to take on roles that make a difference in the world.
