The five-time Olympic medallist Simone Biles is amazing and she’s totally making 2018 hers. She started competing again in August after a two year hiatus and then achieved incredible records at the 2018 Gymnastics championships.
Now she’s at the 2018 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships qualifying rounds where she competed less than 24 hours after being hospitalised for a kidney stone.
According to BuzzFeed News, Simone earned the highest scores on the beam, vault, floor, and uneven bars at the competition in Qatar. Her performance helped the U.S. secure the first-place position and probably a spot in the team finals.

And this was all after spending the night in the hospital.
Simone tweeted photos of herself in a hospital bed saying that she had been diagnosed with a kidney stone. But do you think that stopped her or made her miss the competition? Nope! She was ready to go!
"Nothing like a late night ER visit less than 24 hours before world championships," she wrote. "this kidney stone can wait....doing it for my team! i'll be gucci girls!" (sic)

She showed up for the qualifying rounds next morning without having the kidney stone removed.
"We had to go to the ER, because I’ve been having stomach pains on my right side for two days," Biles said in an interview shared by USA Gymnastics. "We started to think it was my appendix, so we wanted to go as a precaution. We got tests done, and they found a kidney stone."
She acknowledged that she was in a “bit of pain” when walking or stretching, but with a smile she added that “adrenaline helps.”
Wow, she really is a superhero, huh?
E! News reports that Simone nicknamed her kidney stone “the Doha pearl,” after the town in Qatar where the championships are being held. On Twitter, she wrote that she plans to “deal with it after world championships.”
I actually have not had it removed yet, just got the diagnosis and information about it. We will deal with it after world championships! fingers crossed it stays okay!!! https://t.co/4H0y8sysGa
