Thembi, who recently gave birth to her first born in 2018 took to Instagram and revealed that while she was growing up, she used to be obsessed with being skinny, which led her to experiment with crash diets and starving herself.

The actress said her decision of taking diet pills and starving was motivated by the fact that she was ashamed of her weight because her best friend at the time was petite and she could wear anything and everything,

“I decided to drink diet pills and experimented on crash diets by starving myself daily, which worked because I lost the weight but yet I felt like I was dying. I felt weak most of the time, my heart rate was high, felt constantly tired, sleepy and my concentration span was short.” the actress said.

Hi Guys ?? Please follow my fitness page @thembiseete_fitnesspage ????‍??????‍??????‍?????‍?????‍??????‍?????????? I hope this page inspires you???????? For many years and to this day I'm still getting questions from my friends, family and fans on how i remain young. How do I keep up with day-to-day pressures and yet i still have so much energy. @somizi himself thought I got a surrogate to carry my child because I don't look like I was ever pregnant. And this time he wasn't joking. ????‍??????‍?? Growing up I was obsessed with the idea of being skinny. My best friend at the time was pretty tiny, she would wear anything and everything, from to croptops to short skirts (Aaliyah look) and she would still look great effortlessly. Me on the other hand I would wear my crop tops with a bra and short skirt with tights because I was ashamed of my weight. I then decided to drink diet pills and experimented on crash diets by starving myself daily, which worked because i lost the weight but yet i felt like i was dying. I felt weak most of the time, my heart rate was high, felt constantly tired, sleepy and my concentration span was short. I then went back to my bad diet habits because of my gravings and guess what? I gained the weight back 10 times more than before and this time my bad habits affected my skin. This is called a yoyo diet if I'm correct. So I decided it's time i change my lifestyle and adopt a healthier living habit because i was putting my own life in danger How many of you can relate?
