Queen Jo, aka creator of Harry Potter and saviour of many childhoods, just made a big dream come true for a couple on their wedding day.

A gay Scottish couple, Nick and John, got a dream meeting with the author on the day of their wedding and it was captured by the photographer on hand as reported by Huffpost.

The pair got married on 26 August in Edinburgh, where Jo now lives, and she was attending an event at the same venue when Nick and John’s photographer, Matt Fothergill, spotted her outside, he just had to ask her if she’d pose for a photo with the happy couple.

Jo of course obliged and Matt said: "She just strode right up to them with the biggest smile and gave them both a big squeeze and wished them every health and happiness."

And yes, there was some freaking out after she left.

“I’d loved to have said we were super cool about the whole thing, but I’m pretty sure she heard us squealing with delight,” he told the site. “She was so, so cool [and] really sweet and it’s something myself and my clients are gonna treasure for our whole lives. We’re all serious Potterheads and have a huge respect for J.K. Rowling’s charity and activism, so this was a truly epic, meet-your-hero moment.”

I stan a celeb with a heart of gold.

From charitable celebs like Bonang who has given away bursaries to students in need, to Nicki Minaj, who a while back, nearly broke the internet when she tweeted that she’d pay for a few student's debts, there’s no doubt that many stars really know what matters when it comes to giving back and uplifting communities whenever they can.

These are the stars you know don’t take their fame for granted and ones who not only go out of their way to help, but they also know that a lot of their stardom can be attributed to the loyalty and support of their fans.

So it’s always pretty amazing to see the celebrities who go out of their way to spend time with their fans, surprise them in unexpected ways and on many occasions, even spoil them.

Here is a list of some of the most amazing things  that high-profile celebs have done for their incredible fanbase:

Michael B Jordan meeting up with a fan who slid into his DMs

Let no one tell you that you shouldn’t be bold enough to direct message your fave. 21-year-old Sylvia Wilson decided to take a chance and ask the Black Panther star for a photo op with him after hearing that he was going to be filming at the University she attends.

According to Buzzfeed.com, Sylvia reached out to Michael via Instagram and offered to buy him a smoothie in exchange for a photo. Needless to say he actually responded and the two of them hashed out details in terms of time and the rest is history.

Ariana Grande visiting fans in hospital after the Manchester terrorist attack

In what must have been one of the most devastating and traumatic events for both the pop star and fans alike, Ariana Grande not only took the time out to visit fans in the hospital after the Manchester attack in which a suicide bombing saw 22 dead and many people injured, but did so just ahead of hosting a benefit concert in aid of the victims.

What a heart of gold, although it shouldn’t really surprise us because there are so many photos of her interacting, taking pics and having a good time with her fans. It’s clear that she not only enjoys entertaining her fans, but she also truly values them.

Nomzamo Mbatha is as nice as she is beautiful

Brag post alert (sorry, not sorry)!

One of our favourite South African celebrity encounters is with Nomzamo Mbatha. We had the absolute privilege of meeting her at W24’s relaunch party and discovered that she’s every bit as humble, beautiful and friendly as she appears and didn’t even hesitate to come and hang with us to chat.

Part of fame often means that there is a lot of long-suffering and endurance involved, but Nomzamo is absolutely gracious and always goes out of her way to respond to her fans on social media.

Our fashion ed, has since had the joy of running into her at a recent Neutrogena event (Nomzamo is an ambassador for the beauty brand) and confirmed once again that there’s no better local celeb encounter than having a run-in with Nomzamo.

Queen Bey is another celeb who really makes an effort with her fanbase

She’s one of the busiest celebrities in the world, but between putting on the show(s) of a lifetime, being mom to Blue Ivy, Sir and Rumi, she makes sure that her fans know that she cares about them.

According to More.com, Queen Bey has been known to bring fans with her on stage, feature some fan made videos during her tours and has hilariously jumped in when a good photobombing has presented itself.

But the incredible star has also never missed an opportunity (when she’s able to) to grant fans the ultimate joy – the opportunity to meet her or FaceTime with her.

Case in point making a teen’s ultimate dying wish come true. Ebony Banks, a young  teen from Houston was battling a rare form of cancer and wanted to meet the superstar. Friends at the school she attended, according to Billboard.com, rallied around her and created a social media campaign with the hashtag #EBOBMEETSBEYONCE in an effort to gain the stars attention.

It worked because the hashtag went viral and Bey surprised Ebony by FaceTiming with her while Ebony was in hospital. Four days later, she unfortunately passed away, ultimately being granted her dying wish.

As if we needed more reason to love her.

Black Coffee, Bonang and a host of other local celebs are always up for a photo op with their fans

And in more local love, Channel24 recently ran a feature in which fans shared their most incredible encounters with celebs like Pearl Thusi, DJ Zinhle and Black Coffee and Bonang.

For many people, simply having a celeb taking the time out of their schedule to meet and greet their fans, speaks volumes about their characters.

Yes, they’re busy and yes there are times that they want their privacy and won’t always want to interact with fans – they are but humans who have bad and tired days after all – but for fans, the time given to them means that the celebs are grounded and humble enough to know that success not only relies on their own talents, but that fanbases are a large part of that package.
