Leo, July 22 - August 22

Elite traveller

You're all about the bling bling, Leos. While you're generous and warm-hearted, astrology-zodiac-signs.com also notes that you enjoy taking holidays and splurging on expensive things.

You're ambitious and energetic, and this can only mean one thing: your summer bucket list involves an entire self-love and self-care routine where you can have a good time!

Where you should go: Los Angeles, California

Take a stroll on Rodeo Drive and you'll find high-end designer wear. Silverlake will introduce you to more hip boutiques like Mohawk General Store and LCD.

And if you're seeking treasure-filled thrift stores, know that you can find them too in the Valley. Check out this guide for LA's best shopping spots.

Virgo, Aug 23 - Sep 22

The altruistic traveller

While you're a consistent hardworker and certainly admirable for that, you also need to take some time to give yourself a (long) break. You have a deep sense for humanity, you're altruistic by nature and your happy place is anywhere where animals are.

Where you should go: Baja, Mexico

Baja will afford you the opportunity to tag and release endangered sea turtles. National Geographic explains that, according to some people, this endangered sea creature is delicious to eat. Coupled with development in the region, it's led to them becoming endangered.

The three-day trip will involve you staying in a tent on a small, picturesque remote islet. More than that selfless act, the place also has plenty of other acitivities when you want to catch a break: you can take a hike in the region's desert that's complete with coyote tracks, slurp fresh oysters and salsa, and take in the spectacular views of the Pacific ocean.

If this isn't your scene, there are plenty of other destinations National Geographic recommends.

Libra, Sep 23 - Oct 22

The scholarly traveller

People don't underestimate your intelligence because you're known to have an IQ on the high-end of the bell curve. As a critical thinker, you live by logic and reason and your endless curiosity means that in your spare time, you want to be buried in books in the basement level of a library whose shelves are stocked with all things academic.

Where you should go: Iceland

Journey across the wonders of Iceland and delve into a landscape of striking geological features, historic sites and museums and art galleries.

The Einar Jonsson Museum is located on the top of Skolavorduhaed, a desolate hill on the outskirts of town, and was designed for the Icelandic people by Einar Jónsson – one of Iceland's first major sculptors.

Complete it with a ferry-trip to Videy Island to view the Imagine Peace Tower – a memorial of John Lennon, or visit Puffin and Friends for an informative and memorable time during a guided tour of a small exhibition.

I would live on this island ?? #Iceland #VideyIsland

Scorpio, Oct 23 - Nov 21

The reserved traveller

While you're brave and passionate, you also seek time and space for quiet contemplation. You prefer to be a spectator of life rather than an active force of change. There are plenty of introvert-friendly destinations we can think of, but a boat cruise is the one that we think will be worth your every cent.

Where you should go: A cruise to the Portuguese Islands

A visit to Mozambique’s Portuguese Islands is the ideal island escape that will leave you feeling completely relaxed and revived.

Portuguese Island is the most popular cruise destination in southern Africa, and here you'll find an impressive nature reserve with pristine beaches and pleasant lagoons. Easy to plan, hassle-free, luxury facilities, and ample time to explore and relax, it's really the perfect vacay.

Sagittarius, Nov 22 - Dec 21

The cultural voyager

Idealistic with a great sense of humour and a burning desire to travel and meet people of different cultures. Sound familiar? Astrology-zodiacsigns.com also adds "curious" to your personality traits, with your zodiac sign being one of the biggest travellers across all zodiac signs.

With your open-minded intellect, we can think of several places for you to wander and experience unique, rich cultures, but here are the top three time-worthy ones.

Where you should go: Waitangi, New Zealand for Maori culture & spirituality and Nanyuki, Kenya for Maasai culture

Maori culture is unique to New Zealand and Waitangi is one of New Zealand's most significant historic sites. Nearly 700,000 people in New Zealand are Maori and if you want to experience Maori culture first-hand, we suggest you spend a day in Rotorua. This local Whakarewarewa Village is THE place to go to where tourists are invited to learn about the Maori way of life.

If you want the Maasai experience, the exclusive six-room N'gwesi lodge is your best bet for a comfortable stay. The lodge is run by the local Maasai community and reviews on Trip Advisor says only good things, with the staff being all welcoming and willing to share their culture and life experience with guests.

And if you're looking to join in on something a bit more local, The Cape Town Carnival, the country’s pre-eminent street parade, will showcase and celebrate the vibrant diversity of the mother city with more than 40 community groups, giant puppets and extravagant costumes and will bring the Green Point Fan Walk alive in March 2017.

Thousands of spectators from all over the world converge along this 1.2km parade route and more than 1,500 performers in 43 performing groups from 27 different areas will participate in the carnival.

Capricorn, Dec 22 - Jan 19

The celebratory, music-loving traveller

You live and breathe music, says astrology-zodiac-signs.com. You can't understand how people can ask you what your favourite album is because you literally have over 100 of them. If music doesn't form part of someone's life, you just can't be friends.

And if your jam is playing, you've gotta get your groove on – no matter the place.

So, needless to say, if you were to travel, it would have to be for music. Music tourism is a thing. Yes, you read right. People are travelling for the sole purpose of attending music festivals

Where you should go: Byron Bay, Mangochi and Victoria

Splendour in the Grass in Byron Bay, Australia is listed as one of 50 best music festivals to attend by timeout.com, and we can see why.

Around 30 000 attendants fills the space annually and as of 2014, it was considered the country's largest winter music festival. Genres covered: Indie rock, hip hop, electronic, alternative.

Possibly the most beautiful music festival location in the world, the stunning blue Lake Malawi hosts the Lake of Stars festival. The name was given by Scottish explorer David Livingstone because of the lights of the boats he saw bounce off the water.

The festival is now jointly run by Jameson and Harry Gibbs, an expat who has been living in Malawi for years and owns a bar and theatre in Lilongwe. If you're a sun worshipping Afro-pop enthusiast, timeout suggests this as the festival for you.

Nostalgic hippie or eccentric indie? Then you've got to book your ticket to 2018's Golden Plains Festival in Victoria, Australia. The premium music festival takes place over the Victorian Labour Day long weekend in a magical outdoor area in Autumn, so the weather is perfectly warm and stable.

Zodiacfire.com adds that Capricorns have a crazy and fun side, and, more importantly, very high standards for everything, which makes these festivals the best you'll find.
