The Spice Girls might be getting their own super hero movie and 7-year-old me is losing her mind

According to a report on Variety, the biggest girl group ever, The Spice Girls, are potentially getting their own animated superhero movie!!!!!

And. I. Am. Here. For. It.

Apparently each of the women have signed off on their likenesses being used for a film that will incorporate a girl power message. It’s currently being shopped around to potential production partners.

There were rumours earlier this year that the girl group was going to stage a reunion tour after Instagram pics of the five (and in one pic their manager Simon Fuller) were posted on Victoria Beckham’s Instagram account and everyone got excited.

Love my girls!!! So many kisses!!! X Exciting x #friendshipneverends #girlpower

But now it looks like the reunion will actually be an animated film and I’ve damn near lost my mind with excitedness!

I’ve loved The Spice Girls since I was old enough to walk around in platform sneakers and sing along to their greatest hits. I still cherish them to this day and Spiceworld: The Movie is still a cinematic masterpiece, tbh.

I wonder if the animated movie will be anything like their Spice Force Five counterparts that we got to see in Spiceworld. Baby Spice was the martial arts expert, Sporty Spice was the counter espionage agent, Scary Spice was the explosives expert, Ginger Spice was the master of disguise and Posh Spice, was, well, posh.

I hope it’s as gloriously silly and camp as Spiceworld with extra added spice for good measure

Move over Justice League. Goodbye Avengers. You are cancelled. The Spice Girls are here to save the day!

According to Variety, a source says the group is “fired up about the idea”.

RIP me. I just died from being happy that this is going to happen!
