Instaglam Express and IGX

There’s a new app in town that’s finally propelling the beauty industry into the modern age.
Created by Share salon owners Natasha Summers and Chris Fisher, Instaglam Express allows users to order a make-up artist, hairdresser, nail technician or massage therapist to wherever they are, at the click of a button. There’s even a barber for men.
“We acknowledge the time-strapped mom, the business woman, the corporate executive, and anyone in need of on-demand services,” says the website.

No longer will you have to make a phone call, book an appointment and drive to a salon.
Now, you can call a service provider to come to you, wherever you are. Need a blow-dry for a big work event? Simply call a hairdresser to your office. No time to get your nails done? Have someone do them at your house over lunch. Because Instaglam hairdressers bring a basin to you, it’s perfect for wedding parties, as well as for people who can’t go to a salon themselves, such as the hospitalised or elderly.
For Summers and Fisher, it’s been hard work getting the app from inception to launch, and it came out of a passion to bring tech and beauty together. The pair co-own the popular and successful Share salon in Blairgowrie, and have been in the industry for decades.
At the app’s launch two weeks ago at Lizamore and Associates art gallery in Parkwood, Fisher said: “Thirty years ago I started in this industry. I could never see myself being one of those hairdressers who go on stage for hair shows or travel. I’m just not that kind of a person. But I really wanted to make a difference in this industry.
“Natasha and I met and we started our own salon. We started from the bottom. We really had nothing. Suppliers wouldn’t even give us a box of tint because we owed everybody so much money. And yet, through our dedication to our clients, we made Share into what it is today.”
The pair urged other beauty service providers to sign up with Instaglam, and they have a specialised service provider app called IGX especially for this purpose. They said Instaglam will become another profit avenue for existing salons, allowing their staff to be productive during downtime and driving more business.

Also at the launch was up-and-coming rapper Rouge, who is now an Instaglam spokesperson and who has her styling done exclusively by the team.
“I told the Instaglam team, I don’t want to look like Beyoncé, I don’t want to look like Rihanna. I want to look like me. And that’s what they did for me,” she said about her new look.
