This American social media influencer is using her cell phone camera, Instagram page and her uniquely long tongue to make a living.
21-year-old Mikayla Saravia’s thinking “outside the box” has seen her pocketing approximately R1.5 million a year, thanks to flexing her 16,51 cm long tongue for her 2 million followers to see.
According to BET, using her trademarked tongue—often referred to as a “snake” or “lizard”, the social media sensation revealed that she makes between R13 417,88 - R44 728,35 just for snapping a few photos and videos of herself licking various food items, along with twerking.
“Last year I made a little under $50 000 (R745 472) — should be better this year because I’ve already doubled that amount,” Mikayla told LAD Bible.
However, just having a long tongue is not all that pays her bills, the 21-year-old sells merchandise on her website, with logos featuring, her now trademarked, tongue. She launched her very own app, called KKVSH, featuring her latest products and merchandise including shirts, phone holders, chargers and sex toys, the LAD Bible reports.
Mikayla has also opened her own photo studio at her home in West Palm Beach, Florida, and even makes her own music.
But apart from her booming business and huge social media following, she’s insists she’s just a regular girl next door like most girls.
“I wish people understood that I'm very down to earth. Some people think people with a lot of followers are cocky and boujee but I'm pretty down to earth. My biggest inspiration is my mom. I love her she's a very strong woman. I'm proud of my accomplishments, being so young and owning my own company,” she told LAD Bible.
The influencer now hopes to take her company to new heights in order to lend a helping hand to her family and others in need.
