How to make the cutest key rings…

PARTNER CONTENT PARTNER CONTENT
Make your own key rings with Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Clear.

You will need

  • 5 x large wooden beads
  • Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Clear Matt
  • Woodoc Colours: Sweet Grass, Knysna Green and Full Moon
  • paperclips
  • string
  • pine batten (22 x 22 x 180mm)
  • jigsaw
  • paintbrush
  • masking tape
  • black marker
  • double-sided tape

So maak jy ...

Mix the 3 Woodoc Colours (fashion shades)with the Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Clear Mattin small containers.

Straighten the paperclips and insert them into the wooden beads; fold them over at the end so the bead can’t slip off. Dip the beads into the mixtures you made in step 1. Hang them somewhere where the excess can drip off and they can dry.

Measure and mark 30 mm intervals on the batten. Using the jigsaw, cut inserts halfway into the batten on these marks. Mask the batten lengthways in half and paint one half with two coats of Knysna Green. Let the paint dry between coats.

Cut 150 mm-long pieces of string. Thread these through the keys and then through the beads. Make a knot at the top. Make sure that the painted part of the bead is on the same side as the knot. Cut the excess string a bit shorter.

Use the marker to draw little eyes on the beads.

Use the double-sided tape to attach the key ring holder to the wall and slip the strings into the slots you cut with the beads resting on top of the holder.
