How to spruce up a firewood crate

 You will need:

  • Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Clear Matt
  • Woodoc Colours Red
  • masking tape
  • print of the words “fired up” (we used Bree Serif font size 200)
  • carbon paper
  • pen
  • Woodoc Gel Stain Ebony 
  • wooden crate
  • 4 swivel castors
  • screws
  • screwdriver
  • paintbrushes
  • mixing container
  • stirring spatula

Mix a bit of Woodoc Colours Red with about 100ml of Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Clear Matt.

Tape the top edge of the crate with the masking tape.

Paint the inside of the crate with two coats of the red mixture, letting it dry between coats.

Remove the masking tape.

Position the printed words in the centre of the side surface of the crate and secure in place with masking tape. Slip the carbon paper in underneath and trace the words with a pen.

Remove the printed words and carbon paper and carefully paint the words with two coats of Woodoc Gel Stain Ebony and an artist brush. Let it dry for 24 hours.

Seal the outside of the box with two coats of Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Clear Matt.

Attach the castors to the base of the box with screws.
