Velvet has made a huge comeback this winter. Not just when it comes to fashion but also in the décor space. 

Lize Viljoen who is the senior furniture buyer for @Home says, "The abundance of velvet is one of the most prominent trends right now". Especially in jewel tones.

She adds that you may want to offset "the softness of a neutral home interior palette," by using bold, brave colours on both walls and furniture pieces. The idea here is that "bold pigments in soft velvets create a striking contrast to moody interiors."
