"When we want a quick getaway not too far from Jozi we head to Parys! My husband and I play golf and love playing both Parys Country Club and Vaal de Grace. There are so many cute little eateries like the Pickled Pig and Hoi Polloi, plus a ton of antique and vintage stores. Another amazing drinks spot is at O's which is right on the Vaal. "Die Plek" is a deck where you can have delicious daiquiris!" - Roxy Burger
Ladismith (The one in the Western Cape)
"I absolutely love Ladismith because whenever we were in town, people would go out of their way to show kindness by either smiling with us or greeting and sharing their roosterbroodjies. Locals were always keen on taking us around on their donkeys. The humility in the atmosphere really makes one appreciate what you have." - Loren Lee Henderson

Knysna
"I am absolutely in love with Knysna. We (my fiance and I) decided to go in June for a little break and, honestly, it was the best weekend of my life.
"We stayed at the Knysna Quays, in a one bedroom apartment with a view of the mariner, it is absolutely beautiful and private. Knysna is quaint, quiet and perfect for a relaxing stay. It also helps, that it is close to The Wolf Sanctuary, Elephant Park and a host of beautiful restaurants and hidden spas.
We have now decided to make this a yearly trip." - Nicole Dirks

Stellenbosch
"I explored and tasted the beautiful town of Stellenbosch earlier this year. Little did I know that it's also a foodie haven, I knew was that it was the home of excellent wineries.
"The highlight for me was doing a Food Walking Tour with Bites and Sites Walking Tours. Hanli, the very informative guide, took us on a 3-hour walking tour of the town which included stops for bites of delicious food and wine. Along the way we met local craftsmen and learnt about the history of the town.
"Some highlights included a chocolate and wine pairing, lunch at Schoon and a local family run butchery." - Verushka Ramasami
