The new big “D” – Divorce Parties

accreditation
When the Huffington Post’s headline screamed, "Marriages come and go but divorce is forever" many thought this rather cynical and even a bit callous.

But even starry eyed romantics, who would desperately like to believe that promises made in the first blush of young love last forever, have to face the fact that happy ever afters are not always possible. Break ups happen regularly, even to the most committed amongst us.

When a torrid affair comes to an abrupt end early on, it’s usually not all that traumatic and we’re able to get on with our lives with little more than a backward glance.

But sadly, many long term committed relationships also sour and these days the marriages of more than half the people whose weddings we attend will end, not by death, but with divorce.

The breakdown of a marriage is a time of turmoil and change, in fact the word divorce comes from the Latin word "divertere", which means to divert.

And during these trying times, we women desperately need diversions to help us get back on our feet in our own unique way.

We may not all want to, or possibly be able to, immediately decide to celebrate the end of our marriage like Katie Price, with a £1 million, three day bender.

However, there is nothing wrong with throwing some sort of a celebration to help bring closure and get us back in the swing of things.

This is when a divorce party is most advantageous and there are plenty of good reasons why their popularity is on the increase. Las Vegas has cashed in on this latest craze with package deals specifically for this purpose.

But for those of us looking to celebrate a little closer to home, a party with some close friends and any new friends that you might have made will help break the ice and alleviate the stigma and uneasiness that often surrounds the end of the marriage.

Your good friends will want to show support for your new status and encourage you to be the desirable sexual person that you are.

If they ask what presents they can bring to help you on your way, suggest gifts like the Smile Fancy Rabbit Vibrator, Lelo Smart Wand, a gorgeous Bésame Camisole or a set of sexy Adriana Arango sleepwear. A whole new trousseau of exotic goodies will definitely get you back in the saddle.

Acknowledging the good in the past and being prepared for the exciting new life that’s ahead is life-affirming and brings hope for better things in the future. It says to the world that divorce is OK and so are you.
