The former wants the wedding of her dreams and is saving every last penny she has to make your special day a reality. The latter has a malignant tumour and, for obvious reasons, is unable to help himself.

Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place!

One groom, posting on Reddit under the username Unsurebigbig, revealed his fiancé is fuming after he used $5000 (R73 000) of his savings to have his dog undergo surgery.

Despite the fact that he and his girlfriend had separate savings accounts, the unnamed bride-to-be was upset that he hadn’t consulted her first.

“When she found out how much the surgery cost, she went ballistic that I paid for the surgery without asking her when we’re planning a wedding,” Unsurebigbig wrote, adding that because his dog is 10 years old, his fiancé considered the surgery a waste.

“She says that she will have to downsize her wedding to compensate and that my dog is already so old, the money ‘wouldn’t go far.’ I can’t even comprehend how she could say that to me.”

He went on to write that he refuses to apologize and their relationship is now on the rocks, Fox News reports.

“My dog is my dog and he’s a member of the family. I refuse to put a few thousand dollars over his well-being. My fiancée is acting as though I’m being selfish and that our wedding should come first since we’re starting a family.”

Users responding to the man’s predicament were torn between the angered fiancé and sickly dog.

One netizen pointed out the importance of communication when planning a wedding: “Clearly they didn’t talk about and agree on a wedding budget, which is like wedding planning 101.”
