- This may be the biggest assumption in the world right now, but surely every girl - whether or not she's thought about marriage - has thought about the ring she would wear once she marries or when gets engaged.
- And if you're anything like me, the ring is more important than the dress, and maybe even the wedding.
- The main reason for this being that the first thing your friends and family will be asking is to see the ring - at which point you would surely want to show them your big show stopper... or do you even care?
While on my way to work one day a conversation about wedding rings was being had on the radio.
A guy had called in and asked whether or not he should actually be going ahead with his wedding plans after his girlfriend had asked about the price of the engagement ring and then went as far as to requesting to see the proof.

For many who've heard this, the assumption is she was completely wrong and almost immediately she is dubbed as a "gold digger". A term that, personally, I find a little bit harsh.
Especially because the kind of ring I'll be (hopefully) getting, means a whole lot to me, and yes, I might sacrifice having an extravagant wedding just so I can get an extravagant ring. But that's just me.

I spoke to a few other ladies (and some gents) and this is what they had to say about engagement ring price dynamics.
"It really should not matter"
"The bigger and more expensive, the better"
"Not at all"
"I'm a simple girl, so I don't mind"
"Not too expensive, but not cheap either"
So clearly humble and modest wins this battle, but what do you think?
Does the price and extravagance of your engagement/wedding ring really matter that much or is it something that doesn't bother you?
