Christopher Dempsey offered to donate half his liver to a stranger, but little did he know that he was saving the life of a woman who would later become his wife.

Once upon a Christmas miracle is the name of the movie based on the true love story of Heather Krueger and Christopher, who are now husband and wife.

Aimee Teegarden plays Heather and Brett Dalton portrays Chris. The movie follows a young woman who is in desperate need of a liver transplant. Doctors say she only has a few months to live when a stranger suddenly calls, saying he would be donating his liver to her. They meet and develop a friendship that quickly turns into romance.

The real story begins with Chris overhearing a co-worker talking about someone who was in desperate need of a liver transplant. Chris decided to get tested to see if he was a match, and he was. He called Heather and told her that he would be donating half his liver.

“I could not believe it. My mom started crying," Heather told Chicago Tribune. The transplant took more than eight hours. The marriage proposal came eight months later, after a horse and a carriage ride.

We’ve compiled a list of our favourite celebrities whose love stories we would love to see adapted as romantic movies.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds

Their love story is seriously adorable and sounds like something out of a romance novel. It all began when Blake was cast in Ryan’s Green Lantern superhero movie in 2010, the same year he split from his wife Scarlett Johansson. The pair became good friends for a while, and even went on a double date with other people. As Ryan recalls to Entertainment Weekly’s SiriusXM show.

"That was the most awkward date because we were just like fireworks coming across, it was weird at first but we were buddies for a long time. I think the best way to have a relationship is to start as friends."

This is definitely the kind of movie we would watch.

After two months of dating, Nick popped the question and the Quantico star said yes. The two broke all status quo, not only do they have a huge age gap they also got engaged shortly after they started dating. Who wouldn’t watch this kind of movie?

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union

This relationship almost did not happen as Gabrielle tells Glamour. "When I met Dwyane, his "résumé" looked like crap: athlete, going through a divorce, nine years younger than me. None of that screamed, 'let's have a lasting relationship'. Then, after I had a heart-crushing breakup with yet another immature jerk, I thought, it can't be any worse if I date a fetus,” she said.

This would make a great romantic comedy.

Minenhle and Quinton Jones

Minnie and her husband Quinton met for the first time at Nandi Madida’s family home when they were still teenagers.  They met years later when they both worked at Urban Brews studios. In an interview she revealed how he was her best friend at work.

“We both worked at Urban Brew studios. He was obviously much senior than I was, I was just like an assistant runner. He basically became my best friend. He was one of those friends where I’d be like in the club, and I’d be partying, and he would be like, ‘I think we should go home now,’ and I would be like, ‘why?’ and I would say, ‘okay, dad’. "Our friendship grew and grew,” she said.

This is story would make an awesome movie!
