On Saturday Briana from Mississippi, US, took to Twitter to share a picture taken 12 years ago of her younger self smiling alongside a girl in a blue floral dress, asking for help to find her.
Both girls were on a Hawaii cruise with their families.
“Hey Twitter, I met this girl on a dinner cruise in Hawaii in 2006,” Briana captioned her post.
“We were basically best friends for that night so I need y’all to help me find my best friend because I miss her and I need to see how she’s doing now. Please retweet this so we can be reunited.”

Within hours after being told by her school peers about the viral tweet, the girl in the pictures named Heidi, who’s an artist in California, responded to her tweet with a photo of her in Hawaii, Teen Vogue reports.
“They directed me towards Twitter, and . . . I was blown away by the response Bri [Briana] had gotten,” Heidi said. “I didn’t think so many people would be invested in a story like this.”
