Why my resolutions won't fail this year

I've already failed at 95% of my new year's resolutions! So no, I haven't been doing any of what you mentioned for quite a few years now.  So this year is a bit different, I decided to make myself love myself again.

To really find out why I'm not as happy as I want to be and discover will what honestly make me happy.

If it is to lose weight (which it is) then  I will start doing it (I've joined weight watchers last night).

If it is to do household chores like 'wash out the cupboards in the house for the first time in three years' then I will do it. (I've created a schedule to clean A cupboard every second night - yet to see if it works! The difference is, it is not the normal 'I want to lose 25kg in three months thing'.

This time it is 'I'm going to start losing the 25kg I want, if I get pregnant in between (which is the plan) then (1) I did lose some weight and my husband loved it! and (2) I'm going to (try very hard) to keep on eating healthily according to the plan while pregnant.

But pft...that one is going to be hard.

Now I know that a lot of people say that losing weight is not going to make you happier - sorry, but I feel that does not apply to everyone. If I lose 15kg I will:

- Feel more comfortable
- Dress better
- Or wear the clothes I want to wear but can't with this amount of  'otter fat' all over
- Have more sex
- Initiate more sex
- Have sex with the lights on / during the day! (Yes I know, enough about sex already)
- Actually appear on photos with my absolutely adorable 20 month old son.
- I think I can go on forever

So you see! Those age old, crappy new year's resolutions is actually mine and I've started with all of them (I haven't mentioned all of them here).

My point is thus, I find this year to be different. Maybe because I'm sick of being told that the huge person on the photo with my son is me?  Or there isn't a series that interest me on DSTV each night of the week to keep me occupied.

Nonetheless, it doesn't matter, I'm feeling good just knowing that I started.
Thanks for your wonderful posts. They always makes me want to meet up with you and sit around a table with a bottle of wine and talk about these things and laugh at all the stupid stories/ideas/excuses we have.
