So you might have noticed this before, but I have a gripe with both the fashion and the clothing industry. If they’re not making impractical, poor quality clothing for women or forcing bras upon us that are akin to torture devices, they brainwash us with their narrow, boring and frankly unfeasible ideals of beauty and charge us more for the same items they sell to men.
Seriously, what is up with that? What did we ever do to you, clothing industry? Did we steal your boyfriend or something?
Anyway, my latest bugbear is with women’s jeans. And I’m not the only one. Someone in the office mentioned something this morning about how hard it is to find a well-fitting pair of jeans and it must have struck a nerve because suddenly there were a dozen women of different ages, races and body shapes comparing stories of disappointment and frustration.
