Socialite Zodwa Wabantu recently went through a procedure to her vagina tightened through a surgical procedure called vaginoplasty. Now she’s taken gone a step further and gotten the infamous O-shot.

The O-Shot [orgasm shot] which set her back by almost R4 000 works by using platelets containing the patient’s own blood from their arm.

This is then put in a special centrifuge which produces “high quality” Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). It is injected into specific areas of the vagina, according to Dr Sharif Wakil who explained the procedure to Independent UK.

This is exactly what Zodwa’s doctor did as he explained in the Instagram video which Zodwa posted on her page.

“[Blood] taken it from my hand and took it to your machine and cleaned it [sic]” Zodwa says in the video.

The doctor explained that he’s panned the blood down and extracted the platelets. He shot the blood in the clitoris and surrounding areas of the vagina and the front of the vaginal wall.

An excited Zodwa ask, “So, there’s gonna be magic coming out there?”

“It increases your intensity of the orgasm. It increases the number of orgasms,” the doctor said.

According to a 2011 study about 80 percent of women fake orgasms during vaginal intercourse. Of the 71 study participants, about 25 percent of the women faked orgasms 90 percent of the time.

Dr Nicole Kanaris, aesthetic doctor and founder of MedAesthetique told Women’s Health that there are benefits to the procedure are:

Easier arousal

Better orgasms

G-spot orgasms

Increased lubrication

Reduced pain during sex

Relief from urinary incontinency

The only downside to the procedure is a burning sensation, according to a research article by Journal of Women’s Health Care. The journal concluded that Platelet Rich Plasma is a safe non-surgical, cost-effective procedure, only to be utilized as a new tool to help patients with stress incontinence, overactive bladder and sexual dysfunctions.
