These little girls say the f-word for feminism

FCKH8, a “for-profit T-shirt company with an activist heart”, has enlisted the help of a few potty-mouthed princesses, aged 6-13, to get everyone to listen up about feminism, gender inequality and gender-based violence.

They might be dressed as princesses, but they swear like sailors to make the world listen to their message. “What the fuck? I’m not some pretty fucking helpless princess in distress,” they say.

But this video isn’t just a bunch of little girls saying ‘fuck’. It’s an important message with rather distressing figures attached to it. “Women are paid 25% less than men, for the exact same fucking work,” says one girl. Which is rather sad, but very true. And these girls are right, no woman should “need a penis to get paid”.

In the description of the video, producer Mike Kon comments, “Some adults may be uncomfortable with how these little girls are using a bad word for a good cause. It is shocking what they are saying, but the real shock is that women are still paid less than men for the same work in 2014, not the use of the F-word. The big statistic that 1 out of 5 women are sexually assaulted or raped is something society seems to find less offensive than a little four letter word and we love how these girls draw attention to that imbalance.” He added, “Instead of washing these girls’ mouths out with soap, maybe society needs to clean up its act.”
