It’s sad that so many fathers are avoiding their responsibilities; even sadder when mothers battle to make ends meat to ensure there children have what they need. I raised two children on my own and I know how hard it was for me.
I used to wonder if this cycle would be repeated with my son and lo behold reality slapped me so hard my head is still spinning. I took custody of my Grandson when he was five months old because this time around my son and his ex were not ready to be parents.
I am physically, emotionally and financially exhausted, but what can be done, this innocent child never asked to be brought into this world, therefore as long as GOD is willing I will do right by this innocent.
It’s one thing when a father doesn’t face up to his responsibilities, it’s even harder when a mother does the same.
It’s taken me a long time to swallow this bitter pill, but when I look at this beautiful little blonde haired blue eyed angel I know that this what has been written and what is meant to be.

I am a mother of three beautiful daughters. 17,12 and 8. My youngest was born with a rare syndrome and requires special needs schooling as well as having plenty of medical expenses.
We have been separated for 5 years already. He simply refuses to sign or agree on any legal documents and due to the high legal fees I have been forced into a stalemate where I’m literally stuck.
I can’t afford an advocate to take him to court and he will not agree to any terms thus preventing an amicable divorce to go through at minimal costs.
Eventually my lawyer applied for a Rule 43 ruling and we were granted R2500 per child and 50% contributions to both school fees, school related costs and Medical aid.
This payment was made for 1 month and that was 3,5 years ago. Every time the sheriff goes to his house re the non payment, his girlfriend claims that he is not there and because of this the sheriff eventually attached his vehicle to sell.
This covered him for a few months in areas, but not too long because the costs from the sheriff to keep looking for him, then the cost of attaching the vehicle, having to get a locksmith and tow truck to remove the vehicle, storage costs etc, etc all had to be subtracted from the auction amount first!
As a result I have now been supporting our 3 children by myself since early 2009.
How does one get divorced and how do you force a person to pay maintenance who just feel nothing ignoring legal demands?
