No-nonsense politician tells tabloid reporter to "f--- off" for asking her about her weight

accreditation
According to Jezebel, a Daily Mail reporter rubbed renowned politician and Labour leader contender Liz Kendall up the wrong way by asking her how much she weighs. She promptly told him to “fuck off”.

She told BBC how flabbergasted she was that in the 21st century, the media still judges women differently from men.

In the Daily Mail article, journalist Simon Walters reports Kendall’s fitness regime, wardrobe and the prices that came with it.

He could have stopped there, but gallingly he asked her how much she weighs. How is that information important?

This is, however, a tabloid publication, and these are known to cover ridiculous topics. Walters, when defending himself, stated that the Daily Mail has covered a male politician’s weight loss and health, amongst other informal topics.

However, I understand Liz Kendall’s anger. It’s enough to be told - by allies of the opposition - during your campaign that you are not fit to be a leader because you are a "childless spinster".

This is a clear example of sexism at play.

Being asked how much she weighs must have been the last straw.
