The Law of Attraction states that we attract into our lives whatever we invest our thoughts and energy into.
Good thoughts manifest good things and vice versa; your thoughts essentially become your reality. Based on Newton’s Third Law, “for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”, the Law of Attraction encourages living a mindful and intentional life.
While you may be a skeptic or feel the whole ordeal seems easier said than done, this Universal Law is definitely something worth looking into. Some of the most successful people wholeheartedly swear by it; from Will Smith, Lady Gaga and Jim Carey to Oprah Winfrey herself.
I was introduced to the concept when reading ‘You Can Heal Your Life’ by motivational author, Louise Haye, who empowers women by helping them find self-love and restructure their lives. She advocates that “our subconscious mind accepts whatever we choose to believe.”
Here are some more profound quotes from Louise that I like to recall whenever life feels a little overwhelming:
“The point of power is always in the present moment”
We fixate so much on what has already happened or plan for what is going to happen that we forget that memories and futures are shaped by what’s happening right now. As cliché as it sounds, this makes perfect sense. Just think about it.
“The universe totally supports us in every thought we choose to think and believe”
Ironically, while we are quick to victimise ourselves when it comes to our misfortunes, there is nothing conspiring against us or actively working to make us unhappy. According to Haye, the universe is always there to work in your favour, it’s up to you to take advantage of that.
“Universal power accepts us at our own value”
Think of this as the concept of “teaching someone how to treat you.” If we believe good things about ourselves, the universe will act accordingly. Author and motivational speaker, Lisa Nichols, shares similar sentiments, saying “the world sees you the way you see yourself.”

“The only thing we are ever dealing with is a thought, and a thought can be changed”
Much of our angst in life generally comes from us thinking about everything a little too much. It’s easy to become consumed by bad thoughts, but that can always be changed. Author and inspirational speaker, Esther Hicks, says “You have the ability to change your patterns of thought, and eventually your life experience.”
The Law of Attraction allows you to take control, embrace your full potential and not let life pass you by. It can help change the way you see things.
