Physical health and exercise are one of the most talked about issues globally, and a recent study published in The Lancet Global Health reveals that one in four people are physically inactive.
"These data show the need for all countries to increase the priority given to national and sub-national actions to provide the environments that support physical activity and increase the opportunities for people of all ages and abilities, to be active every day," as reported in the World Health Organisation website.
According to a similar study done, there are various factors that contribute to inactivity, including issues around body image, social norms for exercise being different between the sexes, and the growing pressures of working life.
