We know how time consuming it is when you’re searching for advice, events, jobs, style tips or money tips online without any success.

That’s why we were all for it when Media24 Lifestyle recently launched GoHustle.co.za.

5 Things No One Tells You When You’re Starting A Side Hustle: 1. Begin with revenue - It’s great that you have a dream but you’re going to need to make money. Whether you are planning on pitching to investors or building your own customer-funded business, you will need cash flow. Cash flow is the heartbeat of your business. ’ Overheads like rent, payroll and other monthly expenses need to be as low as possible. Make a plan and write specific goals for how you are going to make money. 2. Protect your IP - That’s Intellectual Property. Trademark your work and spend time on your policies from the beginning. It’s worth talking to a trademark lawyer to make sure you’re covering all your bases in the legal sense. 3. Market yourself - Free marketing on social media is the key to growing your start-up with low overheads. Do your homework on social media marketing ideas and study businesses that do what you do. Lastly, know your own target audience. 4. Know your ‘why’ - If cash flow is the heartbeat of your business, then the why is the actual heart. Find your business backbone by writing down the internal, external or philosophical problem that your company is working to solve. 5. You are NOT the boss - Controversial, we know but your customers are the boss. They are the hero, and your company is ALL about your customers. Learn how to serve them but also learn that once in a while they may be wrong. Then embrace the notion that your product might not be for everyone. Think you can cut it on your own? Consider these 5 factors before taking that leap of faith. And then do it. #NowGoHustle #girlboss #workhardforit #bossbabes #entrepreneur #careertips #startupbusiness ?? @createcultivate
