A U.S study claims that women who share a bed with their dog have less disturbances throughout the night compared to when they share their bed with a human partner.

Of the 962 women surveyed 55% shared their bed with at least one dog.

The study says: “Compared with human bed partners, dogs who slept in the owner’s bed were perceived to disturb sleep less and were associated with stronger feelings of comfort and security.”

According to the study, follow-up research is needed to determine if pet owners’ perceptions of pets’ impacts on their sleep align with objective measures of sleep quality.

Lack of sleep is known to have adverse effects on people. In a separate study about “sleepy anger” claims that people who experience restricted sleep have amplified angry feelings.

“Sleep restriction universally intensified anger, reversing adaptation trends in which anger diminished with repeated exposure to noise,” says this study.

So what to do when you want undisturbed sleep and avoid being sleepy and angry?
