With so many close-ups on magazine covers and billboards, we wonder just how models achieve such glowing complexions. We did some research and compiled a list of things models do to obtain perfectly radiant skin.

1.    Using toner instead of face wash in the morning

But why? As mentioned in a PopSugar article, washing your face too often can cause more harm than good. According to the article, it can cause excessive greasiness and can throw your complexion out completely. So, it’s a good idea to only cleanse your skin at night while using a toner in the morning. It’s more gentle and gives your skin a break. Most importantly, it perfectly balances your skin’s pH levels without making it too oily or dry. For more on toners go here.

2.    Use olive oil to remove your makeup

Seriously? Who knew this and failed to tell me?! Olive oil is top model Grace Mahary’s lifesaver. According to Mind Body Green, oil will naturally dissolve dirt on your skin without stripping anything away. Create a mixture of castor oil and olive oil and you’re good to go. Here’s how.

3.    Keep your diet constant and lower your sugar intake

You may have noticed that articles about health and skin care tips are rarely written without mentioning the negative effects sugar have on your body. Possibly the worst effect it can have is causing premature aging, wrinkles and fine lines as the sugar in your bloodstream destroys collagen, according to Live Strong.

4.    Coconut oil is the answer to all your problems

When you’re either out of face care products or simply don't have them at hand, try grabbing some coconut oil. Coconut oil is among the darlings of natural living and top model Devon Windsor swears by it.

5.    Pamper yourself

Yes, this should be fun! The woman behind Miranda Kerr’s gorgeous complexion, NYC-based Ildi Pekar says she is surprised when a monthly facial is not part of a woman’s beauty regime. She told PopSugar that having regular facials can prevent a lot of damage and is also incredibly healing. More on beauty treatments here.

6.    Drink lots of water.

Naturally, we should be taking in more fluid than food solids. Pekar said in an interview that she often stresses to her clients that hydration is the key to healthy skin.

7.    Exercise.

Yup, you saw this coming. Becoming active and getting your blood pumping will always remain a cornerstone to great health. So find fun ways to become more active throughout your day – even if that means taking extra bathroom trips or going over to a colleague for a casual chat.

Here's to happy, healthy skin! And if we touch our face a little too much, we're not sorry.
