CLEANSING
Cleansing-conditioning, also known as co-wash, should always be your best. Wash your hair with a cleansing conditioner once a week to keep your hair moisturised and to improve its manageability. We recommend a product that will also detangle the hair so it can have the slip you want.
Your routine will change from season to season, but hair needs moisture throughout the year. However, in winter shampoo your hair only when it’s dull and needs clarification. Make sure that the shampoo and conditioners don’t contain mineral oil, parabens, and petrolatum.
MOISTURISING
Moisturising is key to healthy, bouncy and luscious curls. Natural hair is prone to dying out when it’s washed, which could lead to frizz. Many natural heads swear by mixing it up and using more than one moisturising product at a time! Combine a rich hair cream with a hydrating natural oil. This should be repeated every second day by spraying your hair with water first, allowing the products to get into your hair. Don’t touch your hair too much as it makes it prone to frizz.
Use a deep conditioner or hair mask after you condition every week. We recommend you sleep with a treatment mask in your hair overnight. It can also make a huge difference to curls as it makes them soft. Rinse out in the morning and continue with your moisture routine.
TRIMMING
Your ends are the oldest and most fragile parts of your hair, and excessive heat styling and chemical treatments like relaxers and hair colour can split or fray your ends. If left unchecked the damage will continue down the hair shaft, and eventually break off.
Trim your ends as soon as you notice any split ends. Wear protective styles because they keep your hair tips out of sight and neatly tucked in, which allows them to retain moisture.
