Leigh Bishop, from Texas, US, is known for going the extra mile for her learners.

So when one of her students walked into her class unhappy about her topknot and cornrows, the concerned teacher knew she simply had to do something about it.

In an attempt to empower the little girl, the teacher came to class the very next day with the same hairstyle as the tot, reports Metro News.

“I told her, ‘Don’t be mad at me when I come to school tomorrow with my hair just like that!’ Of course, she didn’t believe me!” says Leigh.

According to Refinery 29, when the adorable little girl saw her teacher’s new hairstyle, her reaction was priceless.

“When I opened the car door to help her out, her expression was priceless.

“Her jaw dropped and she just stared at me. I told her, 'You thought I was playing? We’re going to be cute together!” she says.

A picture of the two with their matching hair do’s has since been posted on Twitter and has racked up more than 140 000 likes and 40 000 retweets.

“I mean, for people to feel this picture was exactly what I was hoping for, but never in a million years would I have thought it had the ability to impact this many people.

“My first-grade teacher actually texted me — and she lives in Oakland!

“I’m very close to a lot of my learner’s parents, past and current, so I received a lot of reassuring messages that I’m doing exactly what God called me to do,” she says.
