Hair strobing: the latest hair trend to go viral

Last year, the strobing makeup trick blew up the internet and dewy complexions became mainstream – no matter your age!

Now, you can do strobing on your hair as well. And it’s all done with one of your favourite makeup tools: the beautyblender®!

UK hair stylist, Jamie Stevens, and "inventor" of this simple technique, revealed to Refinery29 that the soft beauty blenders (normally used to blend makeup) absorb the colour best and the soft round edges of the sponge prevent random splodges of colour. It is also a great way for those with dry and dull colour hair to bring some light and life back into their hair.

Stevens revealed on his Instagram the technique and it only takes two steps:

Step 1:

Cut a beauty blender sponge or any makeup sponge in half.

Step 2:

Use the round side of the sponge and press your preferred coloured dye into your hair.

NOTE: Use different sponges for different colours. However, you can mix colours together, but first combine the two colours on a plate or surface.
