We’ve all had our fair share of embarrassing wig moments, be it a strong wind that seems to just want to blow the thing right off your head publically or an awkward hug that shifts its position – but rest assured because most wig wearers will be glad to know that Viola can totally relate.

Speaking during an interview on late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! with the host Jimmy Kimmel, the award-winning actress revealed that afros were really hard to maintain but she had decided to resort to going natural, after a trip to the doctor for an MRI scan left her with much more than she had anticipated.

“I went to get an MRI and I put a wig on my head, you don’t know that in order to keep a wig on your head you gotta put pins in it,” explained Viola to which she added,

“…and then you know when you go to get the MRI, it's magnetic”

“Now let me tell you something Jimmy…” said Viola as she sat up right to get into a comfortable sitting position.

“The fact I’m sitting here and my dignity is still intact… soon as I walked in that room that wig started floating off my head and those pins came off like bullets…” she explained while reenacted how the pins flew off her head.

The 53-year-old actress who plays the lead in How to get away with murder, went on to reveal how during the comical moment, the tech woman who had to duck the bulleting pins said that she was allowed to remove her wig.

“I cannot take this wig off!” Viola went on to humorously bite back at the woman after realising that half of the wig pins were on the floor, some stuck to the MRI machine and her wig half way off her head.

Touching on the reason why she had to get an MRI to begin with Viola casually responded,

“The MRI is just the normal thing that women have to do every year.”
